The STELLAR Formula for Good to Great Communication

Riley Harvill, PhD

Do you wish there was a class that could dramatically improve the way your team functions?  That class is We Are Team 911!

When members of your team practice Dr. Harvill’s formula called STELLAR, the team is transformed to one of mutual support and efficiency.

We Are Team 911! is both engaging and practical. Presenter Riley Harvill, PhD, weaves entertaining stories to highlight the concepts and provides introspective questions at the end of each class section to help you reflect on how you are currently applying each of the important team concepts. Prior to class you take a 24-question assessment that serves as a guide to STELLAR and the overall effectiveness of your team.

Team 911 will inspire you to:

  • Serve each other
  • Put others first
  • Keep commitments
  • Be direct, honest, and kind in discussions
  • Take accountability
  • Learn from mistakes
  • Seek honest feedback from teammates
  • Refrain from negativity and gossip
  • Compliment teammates more frequently
  • Seek to understand teammates first before reacting
  • Demonstrate greater empathy towards teammates
  • Get it done and then some
  • Improve personal awareness
  • Bring solutions, not problems
  • Welcome newcomers

Becoming a successful team begins with teammates who want to provide more value than they receive. Team 911 is presented to help members of teams understand the value they bring.

We Are Team 911 focuses on the commitment to STELLAR even when under pressure.

Dr. Harvill has over 30 years of experience working with teams in public safety, municipalities and business.  One common theme in his consulting work has been that the best teams are made up of teammates who are committed to and invested in their team and its outcomes. He has found, without exception, that teams consisting of teammates who regularly practice STELLAR achieve extraordinary teamwork.
